Looking to get rid of their failure during the invasion, Zuko Sokka learns the boiling rock, a fire at the top security prison in the nation. The two infiltrate, with the hopes of saving Sokka and Katara Hakoda father. After discovering Suki rather than captured, Sokka and Zuko hatch a plan for the three of them to escape. Chit Sang, another prisoner, overhears the plan and joins their escape efforts. Because almost escape, a new group of prisoners arrive. Sokka, Zuko and Suki decide to postpone escaping Hakoda, one of the new prisoners to save. Chit Sang and the other prisoners are only trying to escape, but his plan is revealed.
Zuko is served freshly brewed tea to his new friends as all of them to hide from the Fire Nation in the Western Air Temple. This is to tell all, a cup of tea joke that his uncle once said, but nobody finds it funny when Zuko could only remember the joke.
As he serves the tea, Sokka asks Zuko just talk. Wondering where the Fire Nation Zuko thinks and prisoner of war criminals would be locked. Hesitantly, Zuko answers at a prison in the center of a volcano in the middle of the ocean that had happened to Appa in the Western Air Temple. The prison, the Boiling Rock. We suspect Zuko Sokka would ask why something so random, but he promises that he did not intend.

The Boiling Rock was a very safe prison Fire Nation known for its history of failed escape attempts. The prison was located on a volcanic island in the middle of a boiling lake, hence the name [1] The most dangerous criminals, both domestic and foreign, were sent here. These prisoners, thieves, traitors, and prisoner of war.
The prison was run by a brutal guard who was proud of the reputation of the prison as an impenetrable fortress. To ensure continued success, stone boiling guarded by an army of fire teachers. The only way in and out of the volcanic island was to travel on water boiling on the shelves.
The Boiling Rock is made relatively late in the war for Fire Lord Ozai, who spared no expense in building the prison. There were hundreds of prisoners there, more than half of their Vuurmeesters convicted. In all its years of operation, no one had escaped from prison.
